#XD2018: About Xerona and DJ Caise’s Three Cord Strand Wedding Ceremony

Xerona Duke and Derin ‘Caise’ Phillips also known as Dj Caise added a unique element to their wedding rites.

The couple added the three strands ceremony often called “God’s Knot” or the Unity Braid Ceremony to their wedding.

The ceremony symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God into a marriage relationship. Groom + Bride + God. “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12.

This ceremony is a Symbol of God’s Sacred Union in Marriage and passage from Ecclesiastes illustrates the importance of Christian companionship.

Derin took to Instagram to post the pictures with the caption;

#ThreeStrandChord Ceremony where we declared that God is the third person in our marriage and more importantly the centre of this union. Grateful for the beautiful ceremony and God’s presence, even though it was originally planned to hold at the Obudu Cattle Ranch. Glad it all worked out for our good
Here is a little back story of what The cord of three strands ceremony means. This is also known as the Unity Braid Ceremony which symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God into a marriage relationship. God’s Knot as it is often called serves as a reminder to the couple that God is intimately involved in their marriage.

May God bless their union.
